15 year old Christone "Kingfish" Ingram is getting lots of buzz right now. For good & obvious reason too!

He's channeling the true source stream of legends; transcending the mere novelty kid guitarist category. This young cat is an old soul who's in it to win it... Or maybe he simply is "IT". And it will never go away. Doncha ever think about extra terrestrials cruisin' around through outer space groovin' to Lightnin' Hopkins? Okay, I do. So what...

We've featured lots of 'em in our Young Guitar Wonders archive. I'm placing Kingfish Ingram in my personal top 3 Wonders
list along with Ray Goren and Marcus King (see archive link). We're talkin' about kids with classic Blues through Hendrix vibe and feel. That's right, the video game era hasn't filtered all of 'em out. Nor has time, generation gap BS, music biz BS or all the genres to sort out. It's a marvel.

And Ingram is from Clarksdale, Mississippi, the birthplace of Delta Blues. Hence the club name "Ground Zero" where the video was shot.

I got goosebumps when this kid listed Frank Marino as an influence besides Eric Gales, Alvin Lee, SRV and others. That's homework, folks! He even mentions John Mayer, which means he hasn't taken on a certain old school guitar prick attitude.

But I won't rehash the above bio video. And the playing speaks for itself after all. You can also connect to the full scoop (maybe 2 scoops) at:
