Bonnie Raitt's Slipstream Release

New Album!

Here's an official music vid single from Bonnie Raitt's just released Slipstream album. "Right Down the Line" covers a classic tune by the late Gerry Rafferty, and is dedicated to him as well.

Among other things, Bonnie holds the distinguished position of being the only woman with an Artist Series Strat in the Fender line. Although Fender no longer produces this model, they have yet to add a woman to their signature instrument roster since Raitt. Yes, I also acknowledge the Mary Kaye Strat which differs as a limited Custom Shop run guitar but has never been a production Artist Series model.

We also see George Marinelli holding down tasty riff duties as he has with Bonnie for quite awhile. Usually a Strat guy himself George is seen here with his Flaxwood "Laine" model, produced in Finland, and loosely based on the S-type platform. See Flaxwood USA Dealer.

But mostly it's about Bonnie with her vintage, finish-free '69, the voice and the slide. Both she and Strat aging with true grace and lots of class!

Fender's Bonnie Raitt Artist Series Strats were produced from 1995 to 2000. They were available in a standard 3 color burst and a transparent blue burst which was called "Desert Sunset". Other features included rosewood board (9.5" radius soft C), MOT pickguard, Duncan Texas Hot Strat Antiquity pickups and fat 70's style headstock.
