Stratoblogster's Strat Upgrade Update!

I've mentioned before that my Strat's in the shop. Well, it's been in the shop for a long time!

To try to make a long story short, I keep getting more upgrade components, and with still more on the way my tech guy can't wrap up final set-up tweaks.

The Strat: '94 - 40th Anniversary, Oly white, rosewood with 10" radius, "C".

Here's what we have so far:
  • Re-fret - Stew-Mac 0152 fret wire, taller & slightly wider than original frets "Dan Erlewine's favorite fretwire". The new frets are glued in for no dead spots
  • Raw Vintage (Xotic/Prosound Comm) Trem springs - 3 springs with 50's era alloy/tension. Note: I couldn't use RV's bent steel saddles as I have a 2 point trem. They only make saddles for 6 screw type.
  • Trem Block - KGC bell brass machined with NO string end recessing (per my request). Though the holes are beveled for the ball ends to seat a bit.
  • Paint & finish removed from neck pocket & neck to pocket contact surfaces.
  • Strings -EB Hybrid (gauge) Slinky Nickel Wounds - .009 - .046
  • Pickups - ?MYSTERY? - Still enroute from the Shaman, the last and only item we're waiting for. Very special pickups that I'll talk more about in the future.
Meanwhile, it's still me and the '72 Tele Thinline with fat neck and 6100 jumbo frets.

Oh yeah, the photo... Back when I was experimenting my gasoline pre-amp idea, here I am stealing gas from the wife's vehicle with my patented Strat-o-Siphon system! Unfortunately, the gasoline pre-amp never really got out of the driveway. We're getting ready to experiment with habanero extracts next.
