Italian Guitar Gear is SEXY! Just Like Italian Anything.

We've brought you Milan's Molinelli & Jacaranda custom guitar lines already in the Friday Strat features.

Pictured is Molinelli's G-Spot model. Those crazy Italians put SEXY in just about everything-- cars, shoes, kitchen appliances, you name it!

So anyway, I recently discovered Italy's Cicognani Amps. Their "Imperium" model is a progammable hybrid tube/modeling platform similar the Bogner-Line-6 SpiderValve stuff.

Yeah, I can already hear you thinking "Fix it again Tony!"

The point is, a close-up of the Imperium's control panel reveals 6 preset analog amp sounds switches.

Note: You can't see this in their website, but the magazine ads are close up enough (re: Jan '09, PG-page 13).

The six switches are labeled (in order as follows):
Clean 1,
Clean 2,
SEXY,
CRUNCH,
LEAD 1
LEAD 2.

This inspires some cultural interpretation. Were this an American product, SEXY would be in position six, after LEAD 2. Ahh, but you see this just goes to show how much the Italians have nature under control. It's very romatic to put SEXY between CLEAN 2 & CRUNCH. Have some wine, dinner, small talk, an espresso, maybe some dancing, a gondola ride, etc., etc., etc. Y'know, make an evening of it.

We can learn a lot from the Italians. The Cicognani Imperium control panel tells a beautiful story of love and perhaps an even more beautiful story of TONE.
