Fender still produces guitars in Japan, but doesn't market them in the US. MIJ Stratocasters have a reputation for high quality and are more & more highly sought. eBay typically lists a few MIJ Strats. When shopping at eBay, I recommend sticking with eBay Stores merchants or eBay sellers with long standing, high customer rated, large sales history accounts.
